Gots to do this more often. Blogging. Once a month just don’t cut it. If i can go to the gym everyday, i sure can blog at least once a week (to begin with). I use the example of the gym because it’s my new thing. Since a month ago. And I feel spectacular. I’m all into it, like getting little work out clips onto my ipod, chalkin out a balanced routine (a different muscle group for each day of the week), and even cautious about what i eat and when i eat it.
A hundred websites, personal trainers and surgeons have emphasized that one cannot ’spot reduce’, but I’m not buying it. I think the human body is a complex and remarkable thing, capable of more than we think, and limited only by the mind. So I will put the theory to test, on myself… I’ll show ‘em! The spots i really want to work on are the hundreds of tiny muscles behind the neck (i have found that ‘posture’ correcting techniques are quite good for this). I have this nice new low back dress that i want to be ready to rock when the occasion calls for it. Areas I’ve made great progress with are my calves (I was so proud to show off them off in my baby-doll dress last weekend!), my upper abs are ripped real nice, now the lower abs need more work, so I’ve upped the number of reps on the reverse crunches (only problem is it kills your lower back too!)
As for nuitrition, i have a packet of Digestives and whole-grain Ryevita on my desk, so that’s usually what’s for breakfast (along with the customary hot cup of coffee). I’m eating more fruits, like a couple of pears or peaches for snack time (and sometimes for lunch too). I try and fill up well at lunch (1 or 2pm), so that when I hit the gym by 5 or 6, I’m ready for a strenuous work out. Ideally, I shouldn’t eat after 8, but only problem is I’m rarely back home before 9 or 10. Yes, i work out for three hours a day, and I swear, I don’t know where the time goes! Once I’ve done the free weights, cardio, abs and a yoga class, three hours are up, and I barely get a few minutes in the steam room, and a quick shower. So after the workout, i keep the meal light, usually a small sandwich and a glass of juice. I try to do more protien and less carbs, when i can.
Friend of mine said I shouldn’t work out everyday, that I should rest for one every three or four days, cause the body needs that time to ‘repair itself’. I’m so glad he said that, because I can see myself get bored of it soon if I keep going on like this… But hey, i’m not slacking any time soon. Noo! Cause right now, I’m all pumped up and ready to go! …Now where’s that kick-boxing class?
