doin’ it and doin’ it and doin’ it well

Perhaps I have been a little excessive at the gym. But like I was telling a friend, who commented on my gym attendance as sheer ‘madness’, that I can’t help it. Soon as I walk into the facility, it’s like Disney land, and I’m spoilt for choice. Do I head for the treadmills first? Do I hit the bench for ab crunches? Or do I sign up for Body Combat? And what are the chances I can get it all done, and squeeze in 30 laps at the end?

No way I’m cutting down on my ’steam room’ time; it’s only five minutes! … and it helps my muscles relax. And unless I want to go home smelling, I can’t cut down on shower time either. So will just have to curb my enthusiasm, and maintain the ‘one muscle group a day’ regime I guess.

Those who know me in the flesh, or through my blog, or are simply perceptive enough may realize that this is just another one of those ‘phases’ with me. This wonderful obsession with exercise is not here to stay. But if it is, then watch out for my killer bod!

Not that I have weight I need to lose. In fact, I’m ok with my physique. It’s the little nit-picking perfectionist in me… and all this gym fuss is towards efforts in building a little, getting carved, chiseled and defined in the right places… so if I do manage to keep it up, (it’ll be a first), and that could only be a good thing.

Except, I’ve discovered lately that the true test for discipline with me remains within the diet. Learning to love the greens and the grains is proving to be the bigger challenge. Perhaps in time I’ll find a way to trick myself into that as well ; )
